Image for “A light in the darkness”, Finding Your Bliss

Sometimes when we’re going through a difficult time or grieving, we find support in our friends or relatives. Even though we might only see them once or twice a year, and maybe only for a very short visit, their love for us is powerful. In our times of darkness, they’re thinking of us, praying for us, holding us up. They’re sending light our way; so when we’re ready, we can let in that light. Maybe the darkness has been with us for a day, maybe a week, maybe months, or a year or more, but now we can let that light in and allow the pulse, the energy, the power of that light to replenish us, to help us heal.

If you’re in a time of darkness, please take a moment to close your eyes and let in all the love and care and light people are sending you. Let it in. In the darkness, we find our light.

And if you’re not in a time of darkness, please also close your eyes and think of the humans in your life— or the people you’ve only read about or only seen or heard about on social media or the news— those humans who need love, prayers, and light. Send them some of your light.

Our light is reciprocal. We share our light knowing it will always come back to us. Maybe not from the same person we share it with, perhaps not even the same week or month, but that light will always come back. This I know for sure.

I also know that we are in a reciprocal relationship with that light, and part of our work in this life is to make sure that Mother Earth is in a reciprocal relationship with our light. Just as we get light from her— from the plants, the trees, the sparkles on water— we must also give light back. That way, we care for her— our mother, the earth. We are stewards and caretakers of the land we live on. We nourish the land, we keep the water and air clean. We do our work to be caretakers of Mother Earth, to give her light so that perhaps she will find her way back to thriving again. If enough of us give her light, I truly believe she will thrive again. And then, so will we.
