I’ve written before here on Finding Your Bliss about my love for yoga: the way it grounds me, clears my head, and helps me reconnect to myself when life gets busy. But this fall, I’ve been pairing that practice with something new that’s made an even bigger difference in how I feel: weight training.
After a fast-paced summer, I always welcome fall as a season to slow down and reset. The cooler mornings and shorter days make it easier to find structure again—to show up for the routines that make me feel strong, calm, and balanced.
Yoga has always been my space to pause. It teaches me to move with intention, breathe deeply, and listen to what my body needs. Some days that means a slow, grounding flow; other days, it’s something more energizing that helps me shake off stress.
Weight training, on the other hand, is where I build strength and confidence. There’s something deeply satisfying about pushing my limits and realizing how capable my body really is. I love the rhythm of lifting—the focus, the challenge, the quiet power of showing up even when I don’t feel like it.
Together, yoga and strength training have become the perfect balance: one softens me, the other strengthens me. Yoga brings stillness; lifting builds resilience. Both remind me that movement isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about feeling connected, empowered, and at peace in my own body.
This fall, I’m leaning into that balance. Less pressure, more presence. Less striving, more flow.
And I encourage you to lean into that balance as well. Listen to your body. Move in ways that make you feel grounded and alive, not drained or pressured. Fall is the perfect season to reconnect with what truly nourishes you, whether it’s a long walk through the leaves, a quiet yoga flow, or a good sweat that clears your head.
